A full-time STEAM teaching position is available for a highly motivated individual to join Next Generation School for the 2020-2021 school year. We are seeking applicants who have an enthusiasm for planning and teaching science, technology, engineering, art, and math through an integrative, project-based learning approach.
We are looking for an individual with elementary or middle school teaching experience who has a passion for creating inquiry-based lessons. Major duties will include designing novel lessons that incorporate the fields of STEAM, being a lead teacher for the STEAM Studio program, assisting in the planning and running of full day programs, and collaborating with other teachers to produce multi-disciplinary and hands-on projects.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Starting Rate: Salary is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience.

Next Generation School is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our after-school STEAM Studio enrichment program this August for the semester or school year. Teaching assistants will provide high quality care for small groups of students each day from 3:30-5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday while working with a certified teacher in an exciting educational and creative setting. Previous experience working with children and daily availability is preferred. Candidates over 21 years of age with clean driving records have the option for additional hours driving a 14-passenger bus from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday picking up students at their schools for the program. Additional working hours for candidates are also available during school holiday breaks.
Hours: 3:30-5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday; Candidates over 21 years of age can work extended hours 1:30-5:45 p.m. by driving a short bus route
Starting Rate: $10.50 per hour

Next Generation is looking for outgoing, responsible, and reliable caregivers for our in-house after school program, ACE, in August for the semester or school year. Education majors are preferred, but not required. Candidates should have excellent child management skills and create a fun and friendly environment. Job requirements include keeping children safe and following safety protocol stringently, planning games and simple activities for students submitted in weekly lesson plans, and working with co-counselors in a professional manner. Counselors work with a small group of students in grades K-5. Candidates must be 18 years or older. Additional hours are available on NO SCHOOL days, as we run day camp programs for students called STEAMcations. ACE Counselors also have the opportunity to transition into Summer STEAMcation counselors for full- or part-time work during the summer. ACE counselors may also continue for subsequent semesters and/or have additional work opportunities offered during the school day.
Hours: 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Next Generation Preschool is looking for full time classroom teachers and substitute teachers. If you have a passion for teaching and a gift for inspiring young minds, we are looking for you. We are currently seeking individuals to join our outstanding team of teachers. Applicants must have a solid understanding of the state curriculum standards and have experience working with children ages three through five. Development of engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially and emotionally is required, as well as incorporating hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm. The ideal candidate also believes in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment.
- Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on state, local and school standards in early education.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, hands-on learning, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of methods.
- Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject.
- Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards and promoting positive interactions.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or another related field
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Comfort in a team environment
